Update on the business.......
Some times you have to step back and look at what is going on around you. Mark and I did that with the buy the business. We haven't totally said "no" but we have put a two week hold on making any more moves. We totally know that we can grow the business, we have awesome ideas (not something I just think, we have had solid business people tell us that...I don't want you to think...I am full of myself)....we just don't have total peace and so we have stepped back and are waiting for direction...so for now.....'On hold' is were we are at.
Erin...co-ed....fall softball
Erin is playing co-ed softball this fall. Adrianne whom Erin works with asked her to play. Monday night was her first game. Mark, McKahl, Sierra, Jacksen and myself went to watch. It was hard to get pictures...OK I didn't have the night function on....
Any way I wanted to share some of the pictures..."Looking to Score" lost 14-11...better luck next time guys.

Bailee and Covelli.....I have to share
Ok since we were out in Utah of course I have to brag on my grand children Bailee and Covelli. Since we don't get to see them to often I so enjoy the moments that we do get with them. Bailee is growing up so fast. I can hardly believe that this same time next year she will be going to Kindergarten..WOW...where does the time go. Bailee is a VERY beautiful and energetic girl...a memory on her. She can hear something just a couple of times and repeat...IT ALL...WORD FOR WORD...watch what you say and for sure watch what you promise her. She is an awesome big sister and I do think that once Covelli gets bigger (OK I should say 'older') wait till you see this kid he is HUGE.......

Covelli is a precious little man. He loves to have someone talk to him..you know that he wants to talk back. Oh I am sure that this will happen sooner...then later. He is very easy going...and is pretty easy going...food is about the only thing that when he is ready....he is ready. He is the only little man that I know that has 3 rolls on his knees...and that his thighs are bigger then my forearms..but he loves to smile.

Timpanogos.....HD shop in Linden, Utah
Mark and I have said that in our life time we would love to stop at every Harley Davidson shop in the US....and once we get that done, we will work on outside of the US.
We have always loved the HD shop in Orem, but they recently built a new store and boy did they build a nice one. All of the steel and a large portion of the building is recycled..meaning there was an old steel mill in Linden that they dismantled and then used many pieces to build the following. It has a cafe' inside, you have glass between the store and the service center..so you can watch all of the service techs service yours or anyone elses motorcycles. They have daycare for people that bring their children to the store and.....surprise...buy a bike. The have a course on the back side of the building to do all of their riders edge classes. Nice place...stop when you are in the area.

Moving Day for Turreal and Kim.....Orem to Tooele, Utah
Several weeks ago Kim and Turreal call, Kim has been offered a teaching (intern) position in a Junior High School in Tooele, Utah. Just about an hour to the North and West of Orem where they have been for the past 3 years. After weighing all of the pros and cons...the position was excepted and the move was on. Mark and I left Johnstown on Thursday the 21st and headed West. We arrive to in Orem late Thursday afternoon (traveling just isn't speed mode that it use to be...I have to stop and just get out) We hug and kiss everyone and off in the packing mode we go. We know that we have to have the trailer ready to be loaded by 8 am on Friday morning so that Matt (Turreal and Kim's friend) can bring his truck over to pull this BIG HUGE 27' snowmobile trailer. Back up at 5:30 the next morning and packing some more.
Ok so I have to stop at this point and tell the story of the truck. Matt brings his F150 over, we back him up and Mark goes to place the trailer on the hitch....ummmm the truck is sinking fast and when it won't go any further we still can't get the pin out to pull the trailer jack up. Katie, Matt's wife comes around the corner on foot with the boys and after some conversation...Katie and myself walk back around the corner to thier house to see what the tow limit is to their Armada...
Now the F150 has a towing limit of 5000 lbs...the Armada, well would you believe it, 10,000 lbs. So we pull the truck away and back the Armada up..unfortunetly the Armada sat to low and still we couldn't pull the jack out. On the horn to get the BIG F350 to pull the trailer.
This is house that Turreal and Kim lived in Orem...basement apartment:

So back to the story...we are completely loaded and we are on to next part of the journey and that is getting everything uloaded (so that Matt can take back the trailer and the truck) and try to get some things put away before Kim gets home from her third day of teaching. I thought it would be nice to have the kitchen put away for her..maybe not everything where she might want it, but heck you can switch it around as you go...but because Kim loves to cook and has many gadgets finding room in the kitchen proved to be my challenge...lets put it this way, I didn't succeed very well.

But after all of the loading, unloading here are a few more pics of their new home.
It sits right behind the Wal-mart in Tooele and has tons of little shops right there on property to the North or South...this place couldn't have located any more perfect for them. Beside a nice 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment, they have covered parking...play ground, club house, work out room, and pool. Should be a perfect place for the next leg of their journey......

After some clean up in the old apartment on Saturday..Mark and I headed over to watch the Orem Owlz play and some fireworks. Turreal worked that night and so we were able to watch, chat with some of his friends and watch some fireworks. Matt and Katie let Turreal, Mark and myself stay at their house Saturday night and from there we loaded up and headed home. Thanks Matt and Katie for your house, the cat, the blow up air mattress (did I say 'air'?) and the music that played all night long. Sleep overs are so much fun and the memories last forever......

711 miles....30 years.....more memories
Well as some of you may know...Mark and I celebrated our 30 th wedding anniversary August 3, 2008. We left our house Saturday morning around 11:30 to be gone for just a couple of days. Take a nice motorcycle ride up into the mountains and just make it Mark and I. We had planned to stay in Walden (which is a beautiful ride) but for a couple of different reasons we weren't able to secure a room for the night....no big deal we would ride through Steamboat Springs and on into Craig for the night. Here is some of the scenery that we rode through to get to Craig.
Now I have to give up my secret, I found out a few summer back that if I put my camera on "sport" while I am on the bike I don't have to stop for everything that I think is cool. I just hold the camera up and start shooting.....usually I have just a couple that don't turn out. But as you can see we saw some beautiful country side and never stopped for one of these pictures. Well the one of Mark we did...that is where Masonville Road and the Poudre Canyon meet.
So as we headed out of Steamboat Springs...yep some of those clouds that you see in the back ground of some of these pictures...they are delivering rain and they delivered it right on top of us. We have had no rain at our house for weeks and we go to the mountains and you guessed it, rain! But we pushed through with what felt like needles hitting our face, to get into Craig. We pull up to the 'holiday inn express' there are several bikes there. Most of the heading to sturgis, we stand at the desk and ask the lady for a room...reservations? nope! sorry no rooms available. I then asked if they knew of any other hotel/motel with a room. nope! nothing as there was some big oil convention going on....great! Well we will just head to Meeker...about another hour away. We get into Meeker....just a couple of hotel/motels in that big city (just kidding). We pull up to this place that their little red light indicates that they have 'vacancies'...great! We walk up to the door, sign reads "we have gone to the county fair to bid on some pigs, we will be back at 8 pm. The time is a little bit before 7 and then the question is do we want to chance that they really do have rooms and then some guy tells us that the rooms are $95 a night...what for this place. No thank you! So I get out my phone and get onto 'live search' thank goodness for that. We find a place in Silt, Co they have two rooms...the gal says to me that they are 'smoking' rooms...is that still legal in the state of Colorado? We tell her that we will be there by 8:30, that we are going to get something to eat and then head there. Silt is just 7 miles east of Rifle. We go to the gas station to gas the bikes up, and stop at this burger place right next door. I order and we get our food. I told Mark that he had .48 cents from a 20 dollar bill...for two hamburgers, one order of fries and two drinks....what??? But hey I have to say I would have paid 20 dollars for just one of those hamburgers...( I wonder if they bought there beef at the same county fair as the other people were buying their pig). I am keeping the name of the place a secret, if they become to famous they might change their hamburger. After eating off we head to Silt, we get behind this semi and he is hauling, but in the horizon you can see that it is going to rain, you can never tell since we didn't really know how the road went. We stop and put on our rain gear....thank heaven for rain gear....we get back on the bikes and again off we head. Well you guessed it, rain blow sideways at us, on your bare skin face, really doesn't feel to good. But we pressed on through and arrived at Silt just about 8:40....yep she had held our room. Nice clean place, which we had to pay a $10 key deposit. This place didn't even have a credit card key thing a ma jing. But again it was clean and place to bed down for the night. The next morning we get up and into the shower I go...now what I didn't tell you is that when we where packing to leave on this trip I had taken my blow dryer out of the pack indicating to Mark that all hotels have a blow dryer in the rooms. Well this hotel that still used a key, didn't have a blow dryer and to boot I didn't bring a comb or brush...yes I used my finger and figured I was on the motorcycle...wind blown hair should work. Also, on my handy little phone and 'live search' we looked to see where the closest Harley dealership was. Right there...the first words where Aspen, great that is where we are going, so we can stop there since they indicated that they opened at 10 am on Sunday's. As we went through Glenwood Springs we saw a Harley dealership and thought we will have to stop there some other time as they weren't open yet. Once in Aspen we pulled out my phone and went to that special place 'live search' to find the exact address of the dealership. Yep, right there on the screen....'Aspen Valley Harley Davidson' "Glenwood Springs"....oh are you kidding me. The very dealership that we passed at 9:30 was the one that we wanted to go to...but we wanted it to be located in Aspen after all isn't that what the name said. Oh it pays to read the whole screen...we laughed and on we went.
Next stop 'Independence Pass' oh my goodness was it worth it, the scenery was absolutely breath taking, we saw a old ghost town and while at the ghost town we looked up to yet see more black storm clouds rolling at us, we started up the hill to the bikes, the bathroom and to put our gear on....we didn't move fast enough. This time finishing the trek up the hill we experienced RAIN, HAIL and yes that beloved SNOW. But honestly it didn't really matter. We got a little wet, but we still were having a great time. We came down off the pass, headed to Buena Vista..stopped at Jan's to eat, the burgers were OK, but nothing like our place in Meeker. Coming out of the restaurant..yep you guessed it rain again....we geared up and headed off..heading to Salida, Canon City, Pueblo and up I-25 home. Other then some rain...OK a lot of rain, we had a great time, didn't live by a schedule and had a great get a way.......711 miles and a great time! Since I did this blog without inserting pictures I will have to do them on the next blog....
